Are you biting off more than you can chew?
This is Charlie Rose. She has brought so much joy and life to our house. And she has an ability to teach us so much without even talking. For instance, when she has one baby, she is often looking for a second. She’s full of happiness and excitement when ‘her people’ are home. What you can’t see in this photo though is the snort that was happening because she was literally unable to breathe. She was so excited for everything happening around her, then married with her strong desire to please, she wasn’t even thinking about her own basic needs. Seems silly to compare leadership to the behaviour of this pup but doesn’t it sound eerily familiar?
How many times have you just kept going without even considering the ramifications of certain actions? How often do you get so carried away with the possibilities or the desire to succeed at work and at life and forget to take a moment to consider your own needs? How much has your health wealth suffered in the name of your professional wealth?
In Sahil Bloom’s book “The 5 Types of Wealth” he creates the foundation to design your dream life. This book is allowing us to recalibrate and provides perspectives on just how important each of the five types of wealth are in creating a truly fulfilling life. Those five types are: Time Wealth, Social Wealth, Mental Wealth, Physical Wealth, and of course Financial Wealth.
Like so many today, Bloom quickly brings us to relate to his idea that he was playing the wrong game. Whoa! That he had put so much focus on one type of wealth at the expense of all the rest. What do you think? Are you playing the wrong game too?
